<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">&#8230;SO, about a year and a half ago I had this strange nostalgia for this bizarre thing my mother (who hated &amp; still hates to cook) would make for dinner sometimes when I was a kid. Ah yes, Tuna Goop!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">Eventually the nostalgia turned to an intense craving, so I phoned my mother to get her &#8220;recipe&#8221; (which was probably just from the inside of a Campbell Soup can label.) Once my mother was over her shock of my desire to actually eat this, and had finished laughing enough so that I could attain her recipe, I basically realized that I would need to do some very key alterations.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">- Problema numero uno: my mother&#8217;s version called for cream of mushroom soup</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:0.5in;"><span style="font-size:8pt;">I HATE mushrooms, they taste like squishy dirty. Worse actually. &amp; don’t even think about trying to convince me otherwise, the only mushroom I like to eat is a truffle.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">So I revamped this to my liking as follows:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-1 large can of tuna in water</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;"><span>  </span>(or if you want to step it up you can use fresh tuna steaks: pan, oven, or grill! to cook &amp; then flake meat. I recommend seasoning with lemon, salt, pepper, &amp; a touch of olive oil.)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">- wide egg noodles (Manischewitz Yolk Free Noodle Style Pasta Extra Wide) (they&#8217;re kosher &amp; delicious! &amp; yes I know, egg noodles that are egg free… novel)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-sour cream (if you don’t like sour cream, you can use milk, but it won’t have the same taste or texture)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-cheddar cheese or a mixture of cheddar &amp; mozzarella, shredded</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-fresh spinach leaves</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-avocado</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-cherry tomatoes</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-yellow bell pepper (red is good too)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-salt &amp; pepper to taste</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-Bring water to a boil and add pasta. Heat the canned or place the cooked tuna in a large skillet, season, add a glop of sour cream (seriously, whatever feels right) and ~ 2 handfuls of shredded cheese (again go with what feels good). Stir. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-When pasta is just past al dente, drain &amp; add to the skillet. Stir.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-While pasta-tuna mixture is simmering and basically becoming all goop-y &amp; delicious, slice bell pepper, cut cherry tomatoes in half, and slice the avocado dusting it with salt.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:8pt;">-Spoon Tuna Goop onto a bed of fresh spinach and garnish with bell pepper, tomatoes, and avocado. enjoy. discard all old recipes of Tuna Goop. smile.<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:16px;"><img src="http://bloodorangechutzpah.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/img_2751.jpg?w=128" alt="Tuna Goop 2" width="128" /></span></span></p>
